hacked

last night, my girl posted a picture of me from my phone to my facebook wall. i knew she was taking the picture, but didn’t completely realize that she hadn’t given the phone back immediately. as i stood in front of my computer chatting with a friend, the picture popped up on my feed.

i laughed. considered taking it down for a split second. then laughed again.

i just don’t care what people think anymore. this is who i am. the caption under the picture of me with a dwarf hamster held to my eye says, “Laine: ‘mom, why are you holding the hamster like that?’ Me: “i’m hugging it with my eye.’ ” we were being silly, and with my crazy, cold-induced, gravelly voice, i kept saying ridiculous things and Laine laughed uncontrollably…it completely fit who we are together.

i missed this person.

i think something happened when i wrote on my wall.  i realized that what people thought of me when they walked in my front door and read the words there…didn’t matter nearly as much as my kids reading those words every day. and i’ve noticed that the only comments i have received…have been glowing. i take no credit for those words…but i claim them as ours.

we do REAL.

we do FUN.

and we do it with no apology.

and if you’d like to criticize my parenting because we laugh too much and don’t operate the way you think we should…

well, knock yourself right out.

Lady, anyone who criticizes your parenting needs their head examined! Your FB and everything else shows one thing. How much time and energy and love you give those kids. Don’t ever let anyone tell you different! I am still feeling sorry for that poor hamster though! 😛
